Our
New Orleans: The City According to One Innkeeper!
"There are so many great things about New Orleans
that it's hard to know
where to begin. The sights and sounds of the city are just
unique.
Every so often, I try to step back from the "daily life" routine
and
enjoy New Orleans as a visitor might.
Some of my "must do" suggestions, or what I'd do with just one day in
town:
» beignets and cafe' au lait at Cafe DuMonde
» a stroll along the river at Woldenberg Park, followed by
a riverboat or free ferry ride
» the French Quarter walking tour operated by Friends of
the Cabildo or maybe the Save Our Cemeteries tour of historic St.
Louis #1
» lunch at Mr. B's Bistro (upscale) or Johnny's Po-Boys
(casual)
» the Aquarium of the Americas/IMAX Theatre or the D-Day
Museum
» gallery browsing and shopping along the 100-1000 blocks
of Royal Street
» dinner at G.W. Fins, Bayona or Peristyle
» club-hopping on Bourbon (wild) or
Frenchmen (more sedate)
streets
» a nightcap at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop
