Our New Orleans:  The City According to One Innkeeper!

"
There are so many great things about New Orleans that it's hard to know where to begin.  The sights and sounds of the city are just unique.   Every so often, I try to step back from the "daily life" routine and enjoy New Orleans as a visitor might.

Some of my "must do" suggestions, or what I'd do with just one day in town:
»  beignets and cafe' au lait at Cafe DuMonde
»  a stroll along the river at Woldenberg Park, followed by a riverboat or free ferry ride
»  the French Quarter walking tour operated by Friends of the Cabildo or maybe the Save Our Cemeteries tour of  historic St. Louis #1
»  lunch at Mr. B's Bistro (upscale) or Johnny's Po-Boys (casual)
»  the Aquarium of the Americas/IMAX Theatre or the D-Day Museum
»  gallery browsing and shopping along the 100-1000 blocks of Royal Street
»  dinner at G.W. Fins, Bayona or Peristyle

»  club-hopping on Bourbon (wild) or Frenchmen (more sedate) streets
»  a nightcap at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop
